Maddox completed first grade. His classroom was right down the hall from mine and it was so nice to be able to catch glimpses of him throughout the day. Mr. French taught him lots of important things...
G.I. Joe competed in the Warrior Dash in Charlotte. Despite the mud pit that the participants crawled through at the end, it looked like a lot of fun. After the race, people were asked to donate their muddy shoes to those in need. The pile of donated shoes was much talled than me.
Maddox turned six. We celebrated with a party at G.I. Joe's aunt's house. Our original plans included a bounce house but the weather changed our minds. He had a Mario cake for the second year in a row (Thanks, Frances!) and according to the birthday boy, it was the "best birthday ever!"
Halloween 2011
I spotted the cupcake costume months before Halloween so of course I had to have it. I'm so glad that Hadley did not object to me picking out her costume! Mr. Spiderman was trying to look tough but I'm not sure if that blue Yoshi in his hand was increasing the tough factor.
My little bean had to go through some tests for a suspected thyroid problem. Thankfully, the test results were negative but this picture was too cute not to share.
That brings us up to Christmas 2011 but those pictures require a post of their own.
Stay tuned!
